Best World of Warcraft Class for PvE

Many people who play World of Warcraft or are beginning to play this always ask the question “Which class is the best class?” Now the answer to that question depends on what roll you would like to take in the game. There are 4 main rolls: tank, healer, melee DPS, and caster DPS. Each roll has very important parts in the game and each of them can be played by many different classes.

If you decide to roll as a tank, you have four options: Druid, Paladin, Warrior, and Death Knight. While each class has its pros and cons I will tell you right now that Death Knights are not the way to go for tanking. Back when Death Knights were first released, they were the best class in the game in my opinion. Because they were so good, people complained and Blizzard cut back their abilities and made them one of the weakest characters in the game. I have a Death Knight that I almost never play because it is hard to compete with other players in both tanking and DPSing. Paladins on the other hand are fine tanks. The can hold agro easily and have the ability to heal themselves with one click of the mouse if they run into trouble. Warriors have great defense and a massive amount of health allowing them to take hits and resist most damage which can allow the healer to keep up with the fight. Druids are personally my favorite because they can be all four rolls. If you want to tank with a Druid, you are forced to go with the bear tank. Bear tanks have more health than warriors most of the time and in my opinion are the best tank out of all four classes. If you want to be a tank, your best bet is a Druid. Now don’t take this the wrong way, all four classes can be great tanks but Druids beat out all of them just a little bit.

If tanking isn’t your thing, you can be a healer if that has more of an appeal to you. Again there are four healer classes just like the tanks. These classes are Shaman, Priest, Druid, and Paladin. There is one main point about healers. There is no best healer. The healer that you need for a fight depends heavily on the type of fight it is. Shamans are good at mass healing, Priests are great at single target healing, Druids have life-saving heals of time, and Paladins have healing fountain. The best healers really depend on the fight you have to face. You may need Shamans mass healing or a Priests large single target heals. All healers are great and shine in the areas that they are needed in. If you put a Shaman on the main tank, they won’t be using their full ability. When choosing a healer, choose based on what kind of healing you want to do: single target, mass healing, heal of time, or have other players click a well and heal when they need it. It’s all up to you.

Just don’t like the stress and pressure of tanking and healing? Well there is one more option for you. DPS (damage per second)! There are two types of DPS: melee and caster. Just like healers the two types are great when they are needed. There are times where you may need melee and times where you need casters. What you want to be is up to you. The thing about DPS is that every single class in the game can be DPS. Overall, based on my experience in the game, there is not “best” DPS. DPS depends heavily on gear. When it comes to raiding time, there is not class that is excluded unless they already have too many of that class. Each class has its unique abilities and really shines when you have the proper gear that allows you to pump out massive amounts of damage. If you choose to be DPS, pick between melee and caster and just find a class that appeals to you. You can’t go wrong.

In a game like World of Warcraft, there is no “best” roll or class. There are some that are slightly better to an unnoticeable degree. Each class has its own unique abilities and will do what they need to do when presented the opportunity.
